Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the 2009 Grove City College Swimming and Diving Invitational! The site provides general information about the meet, ticket information for spectators, previews for each of the teams that will be participating in the meet, driving directions, a list of hotels and restaurants in the Grove City area, live-updated results, a live video webcast of the competition (courtesy of Grove City College Media Services), an athletes' photo gallery with pictures from the season, and more.
About the Meet
Unusual among collegiate swimming and diving competitions, the Grove City College Invitational has served, since its inception, both as a late-season invitational meet and as the championship meet for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). Since 2007, it has also served as the championship meet for a second NCAA Division III conference, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
Ten women's and nine men's teams are competing in this year's meet. The Grove City Wolverines will be aiming to defend their men's invitational and PAC titles against a strong challenge from Westminster. The Washington and Jefferson Presidents look to repeat as invitational and PAC champions on the women's side, but they are likely to face formidable opposition from both Westminster and Grove City. In the AMCC, the Penn State Behrend Lions are looking to sweep that conference's championship for the third year in a row, with some of their toughest competition expected to come, as in both of the previous championship meets, from Penn State Altoona. Complete previews for each of the competing teams can be found here.
About the Site
This site is intended to be the most complete online source of information for those who are following this year's GCC Invitational. Its contents are the responsibility of the meet director and the video production staff. All reasonable effort will be made to keep the information as accurate and up-to-date as possible, both before the meet and as the sessions progress. Keep in mind, however, that since the site is not directly run by the host college or the two competing conferences, updates and releases beyond the meet director's purview may be posted on those websites before they appear here.
For those who wish to view official notices or press releases related specifically to their own team's performance, the links page offers direct access to the PAC and AMCC websites, as well as to the team sites for each of the participating schools. It also provides connections to other sites related to the meet and to collegiate swimming more generally.
If you have any comments and/or questions about the site, please contact the meet director. Questions and/or comments about the video feed are also welcome and should be submitted using the form provided on that page.
