Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the 2007 Grove City College Swimming and Diving Invitational! Here you will be able to find general information about the meet, ticket information, driving directions, an overview of the participating teams, live-updated results, some history of the invitational, and more. The navigation bar at the left will allow you to call up any of the site's pages at any time.
About the Site
This site is intended to be the most complete online resource for the 17th GCC Invitational. All reasonable effort will be made to keep the information as accurate and up-to-date as possible, both before the meet and as the sessions progress. Keep in mind, however, that since this site is independent of the host college and the two competing conferences, updates and releases outside the meet director's control may be posted on those websites some minutes before they appear here.
For those who wish to completely avoid any possible lags, the links page offers quick access to the GCC, PAC, and AMCC websites, as well as other sites related to the meet.
If you have any comments and/or questions about the site, please contact the meet director.
About the Meet
Unusual among collegiate swimming and diving competitions, the Grove City College Invitational has served, since its inception, both as a late-season invitational meet and as the championship meet for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). Beginning this year, with the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford upgrading its swimming and diving team to varsity status, the meet becomes even more unique by adding the inaugural championship meet for a second NCAA Division III conference, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
Eleven women's and ten men's teams are competing in this year's meet. Westminster College looks to defend its invitational titles for both men's and women's teams, while Chatham College and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford look to make an impression in their first appearance in the meet. In the race for PAC champion, Westminster is attempting to become the first school to successfully repeat a clean sweep of the conference since Grove City did so in 1999 (the last of four consecutive sweeps). For their part, the four AMCC teams will be vying to earn the first swimming and diving title in conference history. Frostburg State had the best finish among the AMCC teams on both men's and women's sides at last year's meet and looks to translate that success into a pair of conference crowns this year.
